West Hollywood Aquatic Center

A year-round rooftop pool on the 5th floor of the Aquatic and Recreation Center at West Hollywood Park, looking out over Downtown Los Angeles and the Hollywood Hills. Everyone is welcome with a reservation through West Hollywood Recreation Online.

How many Competition Pool lanes are open for lap swim changes through the day. This shows which lanes each program has, hour by hour.

The schedule was in the reservation system, not on this page. We read four weeks of ActiveNet listings (October 5 to November 1) together with this page:
  • Lap swim lanes change by the hour: 2 lanes at 6 AM on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, 6 on Tuesdays and Thursdays, up to 8 midday, 5 after 4 PM.
  • The lanes lap swim leaves free line up exactly with WH2O Masters (wh2o.org) and the BLAST team's 5–7 PM practices.
  • Where a listing names no pool or lanes, the calendar marks it as our estimate in the booking's notes.

Pool closures and modified hours

  • Saturday, October 10: closes at 11 AM, staff in-service training
  • Sunday, October 18: closed all day, AIDS Walk LA
  • Wednesday, October 21: closed all day, staff in-service training
  • Sunday, October 25: closes to programs at 11 AM, Floating Pumpkin Patch
  • Saturday, October 31: closed all day, Halloween
  • Sunday, November 1: open 10 AM to 2 PM
  • Wednesday, November 11: closed all day, Veterans Day
  • Thursday and Friday, November 26–27: closed, Thanksgiving
  • Monday, November 30: closes at 3 PM, West Hollywood Day
  • December 14 to January 3: closed (open until 3 PM on December 31)

Reservations

Lap Swim, Recreation Swim and Water Fitness open weekly: West Hollywood residents on Tuesday evening, non-residents on Thursday evening. If a City holiday falls on a Monday, registration moves back one day.

Weather

The Aquatic Center closes for lightning, thunder, or rain heavy enough to hide the bottom of the pool. Otherwise it keeps normal hours and programs.
